In 1990 Spirit of Life opened their doors and hearts to Christ in a whole new way.  Our parish family began not only providing free lunches for those in need, but also fellowship in a spiritual and welcoming atmosphere. 

Through this ministry, a free meal of soup, sandwich, coffee, juice and dessert is enjoyed by people of all income levels, young and elderly, homeless, handicapped, or those who simply enjoy fellowship. It is open to all people of all faiths. This past season, about 4,000 meals were served.

The luncheon reaches all walks of life in our community, either through those who serve, or through those who are being served.  It takes place in the Spirit of Life Community Center every Thursday from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm from mid-September to mid-May.  At Thanksgiving, the volunteers put on a full meal of turkey, dressing and all the trimmings.  In preparation for Easter, there is also a speaker at each meal during the weeks of Lent.  Over all, it is run by about 80 volunteers .The volunteers are divided into seven teams, which rotate weekly serving the meals.

The ministry is funded through the Spirit of Life outreach account, contributions and donations of food from our community.
